Rachael Cusick, Assistant Principal

Welcome to Brown Middle School! My name is Rachael Cusick, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal. I support all areas of school operations, including student discipline, instruction, buses, and the implementation of PBIS and MTSS. One of my passions is working alongside staff to foster a positive school culture where students and teachers can thrive.

Before becoming an administrator, I served Davidson County Schools as an EC Compliance Specialist and Instructional Coach, where I supported adapted curriculum instruction, teacher development, and district-wide compliance. I have also taught in a variety of special education settings in North Carolina and Virginia, experiences that shaped my belief in the importance of equity, collaboration, and high expectations for all learners.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Special Education from East Carolina University, my Master of Education from Regent University, and completed my Educational Administration Licensure at High Point University.

I believe middle school is such an important time of growth, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where every child can succeed. I look forward to working together with you to make this a wonderful school year for your student!
