Amanda Austin

Hello there!  I am Mrs. Amanda Austin, and I am the media specialist here at Brown Middle School.  I transferred to Brown Middle in December of 2024.  Previously, I worked for Guilford County Schools at Jamestown Elementary as a classroom teacher and media coordinator.  I was a classroom teacher for six years, and I worked for twelve years in the media center.  I graduated from UNCG with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2006 and from UNCG with a Master's degree in library and information science in 2016.

My husband and I are originally from the Archdale area and have been married since 2007.  We have two amazing daughters, Alexi and Aubrey, and they love books just as much as I do!  

In my free time, I love to spend quality time with my family and friends.  Other hobbies I have include watching movies (and shows on Netflix), working out, playing with my daughters, and reading! I also really love going camping and going on other vacations to visit fun places (like the beach)!
